ABC cake

This past week I made a cake for a couple who had their first baby two weeks ago. The cake that I made was for the nursing staff who took care of this new mom and her beautiful baby girl.

I made six ABC baby blocks in pink and purple. If you look close enough you can see that there is 1 picture for the A blocks, 2 pictures for the B blocks and 3 pictures for the C blocks. Just to add a bit more fun into the cake!

Mickey Mouse Cake Pops!

This last week we had a birthday here in our house, my daughter turned 3 years old. She asked for a Mickey & Minnie Mouse party. So this year I decided to make cake pops.
Now this is the first time I have attempted to make cake pops but I will say that I will be making them again!

I ended up making over 40 cake pops and the kids that came to the party really liked them and most importantly my daughter LOVED them!!

25th Anniversary Cake

Posted by Katherine at 5:05 PM 0 comments
This past weekend I had the privilege of making a 25th Anniversary cake for some wonderful people in our church. This cake was a lot of fun to make, their daughter (the one who ordered the cake) requested her parents two favorite colors...green and purple. I got to say that they were some of my favorite colors to work with. I made a three tier topsy-turvy cake with chocolate and vanilla layers.

Cars Cake

This is a cake that I made for a wonderful boy that turned 5 this last week. When I asked him what kind of a cake he wanted he told me that he wanted a cars cake with The King on it.
This is what I came up with. I found out later that this was his first birthday cake ever and was really excited about it. I was honored to have made it for him. I also made some sugar cookies and decorated them with liquid icing....actually really fun to work with.

He was really excited to have his name written out in cookies.

Yellow Flower Cake

I was asked to make a 40th birthday cake for someones surprise party. I asked her husband what he wanted and he said that I could be creative. After some time thought I decided to go with a two tiered cake with flowers to decorate it. Then just for fun I added a little surprise in the top layer of the cake!

I look forward to putting more surprises into cakes in the future

Here is a cake I just made for a little boys birthday. The boy is turning 8 and really likes turtles.
I hope he enjoys his cake and birthday!

I made a basic white cake with butter cream icing I then used graham cracker crumbs to make sand. I used fondant for the turtle and the water.
